About the project

Licence to Let is a digital service platform designed to simplify one of the more complex challenges facing short-term accommodation operators: navigating licensing, compliance and local authority requirements.

The project takes extensive regulatory information and transforms it into an accessible customer journey, moving users from eligibility assessment through documentation, safety compliance, application preparation and council submission.

Rather than presenting licensing as a collection of disconnected requirements, the website structures the process around clear steps, contextual information and decisive calls to action. Detailed compliance requirements such as EICR, gas safety, PAT testing, fire safety and floor plans are incorporated without compromising usability.

The design combines authority with accessibility, while the underlying structure allows the service to expand into additional locations and regulatory environments.

Licence to Let demonstrates how thoughtful web design can simplify a traditionally offline, administrative process and turn regulatory complexity into a clear, usable and commercially effective digital experience.

Why it was selected
